It was 4.30am the plane arrived at cairns. Of course, the sky was still dark. As I had booked B&B by internet, the host family welcomed at the exit. Actually I had thought I would try to book a hotel in Cairns. But after all I changed my mind and booked it on the previous day. It was a good idea because it was too early morning to look for the hotel by myself. Anyway I arrived at their house by their car, and then after having tea, we slept again.
Although I didn't have any plan, I decided to go to Wild World Zoo she recommended. To tell the truth, I would rather go to Rainforest to see real wild animals. But if so, I have to book the tour for that and it's pretty expensive. In Cairns, it costs much money whatever I want. I think Cairns is nice to live, but it's not comfortable for poor tourists like me.
In the Zoo, many koalas are there. We can carry koala and take a picture with it. When I hesitated to do since it costs $12, two Japanese boys approached to me. As they showed me the picture with koala and recommended me, I tried to do that. I felt it was a little heavy like fat cat. It was too bad I couldn't see the pretty face when I held it. If you want only to see the face, it may be enough to see koala another person holds.
Not only koalas but also many kangaroos are in the zoo and we can touch it. Peacock and some little birds are also grazed and they sometimes approach us. I was glad to see kangaroo with child! The child's face was really cute. You think so?
After Crocodile Show, when I was waiting for the bus, that Japanese guys who had shown koala's photo said that they would take me the center by their car. After all, I and Japanese couple who also waited for bus took their car. So, 5 Japanese people gathered in Australia. I tryed to asked them if I should take Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for Kuranda village the host mother recommended on the next day. Everybody said white water rafting was better than that because we could take a cableway in Japan. Exactly that's it.....
I and the Japanese couple got off the car at the center, and then we had dinner together at the Night Market. Thai food, Chinese food, Japanese food(!) and so on, there were many cheap food shops. Actually I bought lunch to go there, too. On the Esplanade along sea, there are a lot of restaurants and hotels. We drank beer seeing the sunset on the beach. It was great!
To go back to the B&B, I took a bus alone. I was afraid if I could get to there. And then I was lost just as I had thought. In the bus, not only me but also a Japanese girl was there. As the driver was so kind, he asked us where we wanted and took us each to the place. In spite of bus not taxi.... When I got off the bus, the Southern Cross was brilliant.
